Music and Beer - Year After Year!
Beer and music have always had harmonious relationship. Some might even say they complement each other better than peanut butter & Jelly! Don’t get jealous PB&J, your still good together. So it is only fitting for the Budweiser Tent at the Kentucky State Fair to offer the best of both worlds! Along with food and the finest premium Budweiser products, the tent will also be serving up a nice variety of ear candy.
Candy like Lamont Gillispie and the 100 Proof band. It’s not usually recommended to mix beer and 100 proof anything, but in this case it’s alright. This local band is fronted by Louisville legend Lamont Gillispie, singer and harmonica extraordinaire. The band was recognized last year by LEO Magazine for their reader’s Choice Award for “Best Blues Band” and after seeing even one performance you will know why.
Joining Lamont for some Fair Fun is Old School. This classic Pop Rock/Motown/Funk cover band that plays all the stuff you grew up listening to in the 70’s and 80’s but rarely if ever hear any other cover bands do. Old School is something different, something fun, and definitely something to see!
If you are all funked out and need a little rock n’ roll to feed your soul hang around and check out Jefferson Tarc Bus as they bring an arena rock show into a tent setting. As impossible as that sounds, they pull it off effortlessly and with large fanfare. This unwaveringly popular band has played over 1100 shows in their seven-year career. Local media has endlessly raved about the talented group including:
“Jefferson Tarc Bus is like Louisville’s rock mafia. These guys know how to rock and they do it well!!”- Louisville Night Life Magazine
“If you ever wanna party, this is the show to see!”- Wild Bill, Owner of Fern and Moody’s Bar and Grill.
Rock n’ Roll never dies, especially 80’s rock n’ roll. So, Freddy and the Cruegers will be performing! The state-wide popularity of this 80’s pop rock cover band from Lexington is well-founded. Besides their great music, their performance includes costumes and comedy skits corresponding with the 80’s themes. Band members are not at all new to the music circuit. Guitarist JD (Techs) Garner could name drop endlessly after touring with the likes of Motley Crue, BuckCherry, and Aerosmith. Yep, this cover band has shared bus space with the best of them.
Speaking of cover bands, one of our favorites, Super 69, will be here, which is becoming sort of a tradition. Based out of Hodgenville, Super 69 performs countless shows across the state gracing crowds with a variety of rock, blues, and southern anthems.
Black Magic Marker and Jacob & Jerry will also be chillaxin and rockin out the Budweiser tent. So come drink beer, If of course you are of appropriate age, and listen to awesome music. Do we really need to convince you further than that?
